Flotilla 2-3 Mission Statement
Congress established the US Coast Guard Auxiliary in 1939 to assist the Coast Guard in performing any CG civil function authorized by law as authorized by the Commandant. By statute, direct law enforcement and military actions are excluded. Members receive special training so that they may be a functional part of Coast Guard forces.
Flotilla 2-3’s emphasis is supporting the following programs, many of which support recreational boater safety:
The geographic area covered includes the part of the jurisdiction of Coast Guard Station Sandy Hook that includes Raritan Bay, Sandy Hook Bay, and the Navesink and Shrewsbury Rivers. This is achieved through mutual support, which we call "Fellowship".
